Mexico City, 8 september 2026.- The China (Zhejiang)-Mexico International Trade Fair opened its doors at Centro Banamex, attracting 15,000 visitors on its first day and becoming one of the most successful exhibitions of this major trade event.
“Mexico is no longer seen solely as a destination for placing Chinese products. It is increasingly taking on a strategic role as a platform for investment, production and expansion into the U.S. market,” said Binu Pillai, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Deputy General Manager of Meorient International Exhibition.
The multinational company, which specializes in organizing large-scale trade fairs and connecting Chinese manufacturers and suppliers with emerging markets, is holding the 11th edition of its China Homelife trade fair in Mexico City, considered one of the most established business platforms for Chinese companies interested in the Mexican market.
The fair is organized directly by the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province. This year, the Zhejiang Pavilion was presented for the first time in a “show-within-a-show” format as part of the 11th China (Mexico) Export Brand Joint Exhibition 2026, organized by the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province and Meorient International Exhibition.
The pavilion brings together 50 high-quality companies from seven cities—Hangzhou, Wenzhou, Shaoxing, Jinhua, Taizhou, Huzhou and Lishui—occupying 80 exhibition spaces in a strategic area along the venue’s main aisle. Featuring a unified visual identity, raised entrance headers and standardized information posters, the pavilion showcases the innovation and industrial strength of “Quality Zhejiang Goods,” while creating an efficient platform for Zhejiang companies to strengthen their presence in the Mexican and broader Latin American markets, Pillai said.
As an integral part of one of the most influential Chinese-organized B2B professional exhibitions in Mexico and Latin America, the China (Zhejiang)-Mexico International Trade Fair has received strong support from international organizations, including the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (COPARMEX), the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology (COMCE), the National Association of Importers and Exporters of the Mexican Republic (ANIERM), the Mexico-China Chamber of Commerce and Technology Association, and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). Together, these partners are helping Zhejiang companies capitalize on opportunities in the Latin American market.
The fair features high-quality companies such as Guangdong Fuvo Industrial Co., Limited; Guangzhou Haoqiang Textile Co., Ltd.; Ningbo STAXX Material Handling Equipment Co., Ltd. Foshan Shunde District Youhe Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd. (Booth B223); and BEIFA Group.
The following guests were present at the Mexico Opening Ceremony: Carlos Eugenio García de Alba Zepeda, Ambassador of Brazil to Mexico; Shi Xiaochu, Chief Representative of the CCPIT Mexico Representative Office; and Luo Zhuan, Vice President of the CCPIT Hunan Sub-Council, among others.
Seizing the nearshoring opportunity: zhejiang companies expand across Latin America
As a strategic hub connecting North American and Latin American markets, Mexico is at the forefront of the global restructuring of industrial supply chains. Trade facilitation under the USMCA, the relocation of operations driven by multinational companies’ nearshoring strategies, and the continued expansion of the domestic consumer market are deepening economic and trade cooperation between China and Mexico.
In the first half of 2026 alone, China-Mexico trade reached US$57.2 billion, while China’s exports to Mexico totaled US$45.47 billion, representing a 4.8% year-on-year increase. Major export categories include electromechanical products, electronic equipment, automobiles and auto parts—sectors that closely align with Mexico’s needs for manufacturing modernization and infrastructure development.
As one of China’s leading manufacturing and foreign trade provinces, Zhejiang has broad industrial capabilities and significant advantages stemming from its manufacturing clusters, which closely match the demands of the Mexican market. This year’s Zhejiang Pavilion is specifically targeting opportunities created by the nearshoring trend and Mexico’s evolving consumer market, bringing together 50 provincial companies to jointly expand their international presence.
The product offering spans a range of strategic industries, including home and daily-use products, textiles and apparel, home appliances and electronics, construction materials and hardware, as well as outdoor furniture. In this way, the pavilion presents a comprehensive picture of the evolution of “Smart Manufacturing in Zhejiang” while opening new business opportunities for Zhejiang companies across Latin America.
Consolidated offering, complete product categories: “quality Zhejiang goods” debut with a unified image
The 50 participating companies are centrally located in a strategic area along the venue’s main aisle, featuring unified entrances and visual identification elements. Support from the provincial department of commerce: promoting the high-quality internationalization of Zhejiang companies
This year’s Zhejiang Pavilion is a key initiative of the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province to implement the “Sweet Potato Economy Upgrading Initiative”—the province’s No. 1 Opening-Up Project—promoted by the Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government. It also represents the concentrated launch of the regional “Quality Zhejiang Goods” brand in the Latin American market.
From preparation through on-site execution, the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province has provided overall coordination and guidance, carefully organizing the participation of leading companies from the province’s strategic industries. This has created a concentrated showcase for taking the regional “Quality Zhejiang Goods” brand into the Mexican market, while integrating product displays with presentations of industrial capabilities and leveraging the collective strength of manufacturing clusters to support the high-quality international expansion of Zhejiang companies.
To maximize the results of their participation, this year’s Zhejiang Pavilion follows a “comprehensive service” approach, providing all 50 exhibitors with unified professional services covering booth construction, exhibit transportation, on-site interpretation and buyer matchmaking. The objective is to ensure a smooth exhibition experience while helping each Zhejiang company efficiently connect with buyers and secure orders during the event.
After years of development and consolidation, the China (Zhejiang)-Mexico International Trade Fair has become an important platform for Zhejiang companies seeking to explore emerging markets. At this new stage, the China (Zhejiang)-Mexico International Trade Fair will continue to serve as a bridge, helping more Zhejiang companies seize opportunities in the Latin American market and steadily deepen economic and trade cooperation between Zhejiang and Mexico.
The exhibition runs for three days and will remain open through September 10.
